This is my 'go to' hotel in Sydney. I stay here 2 or 3 times per year. As a female (usually) solo traveller I feel safe in this area day and night. The hotel is convenient- close to public transport, China town, markets, Darling Harbour and restaurants. The hotel is clean, comfortable and the staff very helpful.
