The Western Development Museum offers a fascinating introduction to Yorkton's Eastern European roots. It recalls the stories of the town's immigrant population through photographs, artefacts and life-size exhibits. Don't miss the vintage clay oven, an original piece of farm memorabilia in the museum's outdoor compound.

Every year Canada's top filmmakers compete for the Golden Sheaf Awards at the prestigious Yorkton Film Festival. If you're not in town for the event, you can still enjoy a colourful programme of year-round screenings featuring everything from First Nations documentaries to coming-of-age dramas.

Topped by a 16-metre-high dome, St Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church is a Yorkton landmark. The interior was inspired by Ukrainian and Roman art and has been beautifully painted with over 150 angels and cherubs. You're welcome to wander around the church or stay for one of the services.
