About Tabuk

Tabuk Province offers a captivating blend of history and culture in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. You can visit palm-studded oasis towns, admire pre-Islamic rock art and explore ancient forts. Head to the Red Sea coast to find golden beaches, aquamarine water and colourful coral reefs.

Things to do

Tabuk is a lush oasis city known for its rich Nabatean heritage. Retrace the city’s legacy at the Museum of Antiquities and Traditional Heritage, which showcases pre-Islamic rock art. Visit Tabuk Castle to stroll around the courtyard, climb the watchtowers and see the ancient water cisterns built in 650 AD.

With swaying palms and sparkling water, Umluj Beach is often crowned one of the most beautiful stretches of sand in the Middle East. Just offshore are a handful of postcard-perfect islands known as the "Maldives of Saudi Arabia”. Scuba divers can explore vibrant reefs and coral-strewn shipwrecks.

Tabuk Province boasts some of the most dramatic scenery in the Kingdom. Known as the “Great Canyon of Saudi Arabia”, Al-Shaq echoes the power of tectonic forces. A walking trail winds along the northern side of the canyon and offers a bird's-eye view of the chasm and its rugged cliffs.

Venture inland to discover the oasis of Tayma, which is a popular stopping point for caravans travelling across Saudi Arabia thanks to its abundance of water walls. It offers you a unique chance to view ancient Assyrian inscriptions dating back to the 8th century.

Getting around

Tabuk Province is best explored with a rental car, while Tabuk’s city centre can be traversed on foot or using local buses. Tabuk Regional Airport is a 10-minute drive from the city of Tabuk.
