About Al Bahah

Encompassing rugged mountains and lush valleys, Al-Bahah Province lies south-west of Saudi Arabia’s Hejazi region. It is one of the smallest provinces in the kingdom and has been nicknamed the “Pearl of the Resorts” due to its abundance of natural and historic attractions. Al Bahah is an important area for the cultivation of fruits and is famed for its high-quality honey.

Ancient villages, bustling souks and breathtaking terrain - Al Bahah Province is one of Saudi Arabia’s most captivating destinations.

Sightsee in Al Bahah. Serving as the provincial capital is Al Bahah, which is known affectionately as the "Garden of the Hejaz”. It’s famed for its traditional "qasbah" towers that were built as watchtowers, keeps and granaries. Not to miss is the famous Saturday market in nearby Baljorashi where local handicrafts and fresh produce are for sale.

Visit the marble village of Thee Ain. Clustered with houses built from polished stones, this beautifully preserved historic village has a rich history dating back to the 8th century. It is named after the spring that flows continuously from the surrounding mountains and is renowned for its cultivation of bananas, basil and lemons.

Explore the Qanona Valley. Protected as a state park, the Qanona Valley stretches for more than 108 kilometres and is surrounded by enchanting palm groves. It’s a popular destination for hiking and picnicking, with a tranquil lake that attracts a variety of birdlife.

Soak up the views from Jibal Mussala Ibrahim. Rising 2,222 metres in height, Jibal Mussala Ibrahim is a jagged summit that offers majestic views across the agricultural valleys and terraces of Al Bahah Province. Perched partway up the mountain is the small village of Sheda while the remains of stone-built Bedouin settlements scatter the slopes.
