About Digos

Digos City enjoys a dramatic setting on Mindanao Island, with the sparkling Davao Gulf on one side and the southern foothills of Mount Apo on the other. It’s known for its deliciously juicy “carabao” mangoes, as well as being the gateway to palm-fringed beaches, lush jungles and characterful villages.

Things to do in Digos

Rising almost 3,000 metres above the city, Mount Apo is the highest mountain in the Philippines. Treks to the summit usually take around three to four days, though most travellers prefer to enjoy a day hiking in Mt. Apo National Park. Go on an overnight adventure in Kapatagan, a traditional village that offers spectacular views of Mount Apo.

Camp Sabros is an outdoor adventure that features three adrenalin-soaked ziplines that slice through the lush jungles of Mount Apo National Park. As you fly through the canopy, keep an eye out for soaring Philippine eagles, the country’s national bird.

For an alternative view of Mount Apo, head to Camp@Tagan Lake Mirror and Hillside campground. Set on a glassy spring-fed lake, on a clear day the reflections of Mount Apo are magical, while swimming, fishing and boating are popular activities.

No visit to Digos City is complete without a glimpse at its thriving mango industry. The nearby village of San Roque is home to the majority of the region’s mango orchards, with local farms offering intimate tours. You can devour mangoes in peak harvest season from March to May.

Getting around Digos

In Digos City the easiest way to get around is by taxi. For short journeys, you can also jump aboard a colourful jeepney.
