The remote “Hand of the Desert” is an 11-metre-tall hand coming out of the desert floor. Andrés Sabella Gálvez International Airport is 10 kilometres north of Antofagasta, while long-distance buses are also available from nearby cities. Upon arrival in Antofagasta, the best way to get around is by car, bus or taxi.
