Hotel was under extensive renovation, but staff were placed throughout to help patrons navigate. Pool also needs to be renovated... Our room was great. Dined at the newly renovated Italian place (can't remember the name). The service was very friendly, but slow. Our server was not well-informed about the menu and drink items and our food was very bland and undercooked (I know it is a forno oven, but the pizza dough was completely raw in the middle and so was my husband's). The kids' menu concept where they choose 1 item from 4 categories was great.
We have stayed at this hotel a number of times and it had always been great. It would have really helped if we knew that the hotel was under major renovations when we booked. We didn't know until we drove up to the door. There was limited access to restaurants and other ammenities. Very disappointing. The staff was great even under trying circumstances.
Since the ownership of this Hotel has changed hands it has gone downhill. They are doing renovations (which we were not made aware of when booking). Our room was next to construction. The guest parking underground is a storage facility for their reno project, therefore very little guest parking available. The food is outrageously overpriced for very little quality or selection. The front end staff were short handed and therefore resulted in waiting both time visiting the desk. The pool and hot tub are showing their age (missing tiles /sharp edges etc). The swimming pool is COLD.
