This hotel is placed just on the other side of the Caldera so you don't have the coveted sunset views but we knew this before booking. What you do get is stunning sunrises instead. The sunsets are very easily watched from a ten minute walk into Fira. There's a public walkway with viewing spots or any number of cafes and restaurants that will provide a good spot for the one or two hours to watch the sun go down. The resort itself is a great spot away from the touristy hub bub of Fira and hanging out by the pool or enjoying the decadence of the rooms was welcome during a heatwave.
