About Sapporo Dome

Sapporo Dome was built to host the 2002 FIFA World Cup, though today it's used for everything from baseball matches to music concerts. The stadium can seat over 40,000 fans and is housed in a futuristic steel shell.

The stadium is home to both the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters baseball team and the Consadole Sapporo soccer club, with the surface switching to artificial turf or natural grass depending on the sport. Stock up on beer and Japanese hot dogs at the food stands and check out the souvenir stalls for team memorabilia and sporting goods.

If you can't score tickets to a Fighters or Consadole Sapporo match, join a guided stadium tour that unlocks behind-the-scenes access to the locker rooms, commentary box, and stands. Don't miss the 53-meter-high observation deck, which commands sweeping views of the Sapporo skyline and distant mountains.

Getting there

Sapporo Dome is a 10-minute walk from Fukuzumi Subway Station on the Toho Line. The station is a 15-minute ride from Sapporo’s city center. Local buses also stop outside the stadium, while a taxi ride from the city centre takes around 20 minutes.
