Once known as “Rippowam” to indigenous Native Americans, Stamford is one of the oldest communities on the East Coast, dating back to 1640. It boasts deep historical roots and is home to cultural and performing arts venues, beaches and international restaurants.

A portion of Long Island Sound borders Stamford, offering sandy beaches and a historic lighthouse, as well as fishing, boating and sailing.
