Mercure Sydney Macquarie Park

LikedMy husband was having an operation at Macquarie University Hospital so I booked for 2 nights so we didn’t have the stress of travelling. The hotel was ideally situated near the hospital so that we could walk there. It was convenient for me to be able to return to the hotel and not have to drive home every day ( over an hour away). The facilities at the hotel were good. The rooms were a good size. The bathroom could do with a bit of an update but was very clean and well equipped. The bed was comfortable but felt a bit rickety. The staff were excellent. They could not do enough for you. I did not have breakfast but it looked to be lovely. Lots of choices. I observed the breakfast staff doing a really good job. They would clear the tables and clean and deodorize the tables after each person was finished their breakfast. You could tell that the server took pride in his work, very impressive. The parking fee was reasonable, I was concerned that my husband wouldn’t be discharged from hospital before checkout time so was willing to pay for a further days parking but the staff said not to worry, it was complimentary. As it turned out we were only a few minutes over the time. I was impressed by that. I would certainly stay here again, and would recommend it to anyone.

DislikedBathroom needs an update. Bed needs updating

LikedFitted our needs. We'll located for the Macquarie University Hospital, which was so convenient for us. Very clean and I liked the flexibility they offered as we had to extend our stay.

DislikedJust the plastic tea tumblers. Which just gave a bad smell when drinking hot beverage.

LikedLocation cleanliness staff were fantastic the lady at the check in deserves a raise she was so customer focused and accommodating as welcoming. She was able to kindly change our room to a main level room ( I have a fear of lifts) and it was not an issue. Every Tim’s we went past reception she said hello and it made us feel like we were in a comfortable safe place

LikedLocation and beds comfortable. Check in and out smooth. Friendly staff. Plenty of towels if you need. Location was key!

DislikedNothing maybe paying for parking. Parking is $16 a night but cheaper than some Sydney prices. Everything costs these days. Other than that it was all great. Thank you
